•Cold pressed neem oil. (The amazon link shared here is of special interest. Do check out the fungus infected plant. ;)
•Soapnuts (Reetha)
•Boiling water
•Spray bottle
Plenty of info available on how/when to spray etc. Google is your friend. But drenching the plant about once a month is OK as long as your plants are not flowering.
Step 1
Boil a kettle and soak 2 nuts in 200ml/1 cup, of hot water for at least 12 hours.
Step 2
You can see the liquid is now yellowish and with a good stir you can see the “soapy” quality of the saponins. Maybe give ’em nuts a little squeeze ? So stir and remove nuts. You can compost these. it all just sounds wrong…
Step 3
Measure out 10 to 15ml of neem oil. If you don’t have a measuring cup then 3 to 4 teaspoons will do fine.
Step 4
Add the neem oil to the soap nut liquid and stir well. Then transfer this mix carefully to your spray bottle.
Step 5
Fill up to 1L with warm (not boiling) water, put the lid on, shake well, and use within 24 hours, ideally straight away.
